Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring every pet leaves looking and feeling their best. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon operations, and sales in a fast-paced retail environment. Uphold pet health, safety, and our company values while working collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness products/services, and drive salon sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, humane pet conditions, and immediate response to sick/injured animals.
- Assist in other store areas, promote merchandise, and foster a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Excel in high-pressure settings with strong organization, communication, and computer skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair-filled, noisy environments. Flexible availability essential.
