Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines grooming expertise with customer service in a fast-paced retail environment, sharing responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet safety, and sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Uphold highest sanitation levels; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning.
- Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured pets to vet as needed; assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
