Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This role demands grooming expertise, customer engagement, and commitment to cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to hit sales goals.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greet, answer questions, handle reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and support other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
