Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Bourbonnais, IL location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats, engage pet parents, and uphold PetSmart's vision of exceptional pet care. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet health, and safety while contributing to salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Recommend wellness solutions, greet pet parents, manage reservations, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls.
- Drive salon sales through merchandise and service promotions to hit targets.
- Maintain humane, sanitary conditions via daily cleaning checklists; respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
