Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensures pet safety, and drives customer satisfaction. This hands-on role combines technical grooming skills with outstanding pet parent interactions in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per company standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/products to boost sales and pet health.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Monitor pet health, transport to vet if needed, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training + certification). Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize efficiently. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, working in wet/hairy/noisy settings with animals. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
