Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while engaging pet parents. This role ensures positive experiences, upholds pet health and safety, and drives salon success through exceptional grooming and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain salon cleanliness via daily maintenance checklists; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must have computer proficiency, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, communication skills, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet environments, pet hair, and moderate noise.
