Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Brooklyn, NY location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service and sales to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Collaborate across departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet-heavy environments.
