Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds PetSmart’s vision of superior pet care, salon cleanliness, and safety while driving sales and client satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise, and promote salon growth to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records using salon software.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must possess computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet-heavy, noisy environments.
