Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards. Based in Buckeye, Arizona, this role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend merchandise/services to boost sales.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
