Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This hands-on role in our Burlington store combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to exceed expectations and boost salon performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products/services to meet pet needs.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Drive salon sales through promotions and merchandising to hit targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, monitor pet health and transport to vet if needed.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training). Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible availability (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
