Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role in our Burnaby location combines hands-on grooming with customer service and sales to exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Promote salon sales, recommend merchandise, and achieve productivity targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Assist other departments and embody PetSmart's values of belonging and recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.

- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation and pet safety; handle sick/injured pets
- Drive salon sales through promotions and merchandise recommendations
- Participate in store culture, follow policies and assist other departments as needed
