Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds cleanliness, pet health/safety standards, and drives salon success through skilled grooming and customer engagement in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend services/merchandise to boost sales.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist customers.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and contribute to team recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
