Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This role combines technical grooming skills with outstanding customer service to drive salon success and pet wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
- Recommend health solutions, manage appointments, client records, and sales register interactions.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Identify and address sick/injured pets, transporting to vets as needed.
- Promote salon sales, rebook services, and assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays essential. Must handle physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a wet, pet-filled environment with moderate noise.
