Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring pet health, safety, and parent satisfaction. This hands-on role in our Calgary, Alberta location combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/products to boost sales and loyalty.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily/end-of-day maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health; transport to vet if needed, and assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize efficiently. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking extensively, and working in wet, noisy settings with live animals. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
