Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales to drive store success in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs and recommend solutions/merchandise.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions daily.
- Identify sick/injured pets and coordinate vet transport; assist other departments as needed.
- Drive salon sales to meet targets through promotions and upselling.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, noisy environment.
