Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, salon maintenance, and sales to uphold our vision of pet health and happiness. Located in Canoga Park, California, you'll work in a dynamic environment with flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and teeth brushing per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, and promote salon services to meet sales goals.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and pet safety, including end-of-day protocols and emergency vet transport if needed.
- Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and rebooking to enhance pet parent satisfaction.
- Collaborate across departments and embody our culture of recognition and inclusion.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
