Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales contributions in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products, and drive salon sales to meet targets.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day deep cleans.
- Monitor pet health, respond to emergencies by transporting to vets if needed, and assist other departments as required.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Must demonstrate composure under pressure, strong organizational skills, attention to safety, and proficiency in computer systems. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing for extended periods, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wet conditions. Excellent communication skills essential.
