Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon maintenance, and sales contributions in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care following PetSmart standards.
• Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
• Handle salon operations including greetings, reservations, check-ins/check-outs, client records, and reminder calls.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, pet safety, and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning.
• Respond to pet health issues, transport to vets if needed, and assist other departments as required.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing, stooping, and working in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
