Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Charlotte, NC location, you'll provide best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats, ensure pet health/safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences. This role upholds PetSmart's vision while sharing responsibility for salon cleanliness and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently deliver full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, client records, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; respond to sick/injured pets with immediate action or vet transport.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion/safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
