Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in wet/hairy conditions with moderate to high noise. Exposure to live animals and mechanical parts common.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions and rebook services.
- Handle check-in/out, phone reservations, and salon promotions.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and respond to pet health issues.
- Drive sales through merchandise recommendations and metrics achievement.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and computer proficiency needed. Passion for pets and safety focus essential.
