Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds cleanliness, safety standards, and drives salon success through expert grooming and customer engagement in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and promote services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records while providing outstanding in-person/phone service.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured pets to vet if needed, and assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
