Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds company standards for cleanliness, pet health, and safety while driving salon sales and customer satisfaction in our Chicago, IL location.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, recommend merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain salon hygiene via daily/end-of-day cleaning checklists; respond to sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
