Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. Uphold cleanliness, safety standards, and drive salon success through expert grooming and customer engagement in our Chico, CA location.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage reservations/check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure salon hygiene through daily maintenance, end-of-day cleaning, and immediate action on pet health issues (e.g., vet transport).
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, noisy environment.
