Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon maintenance, and sales in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position in Citrus Heights, California, requiring flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs and recommend solutions.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Drive salon sales through merchandising and upselling services.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, pet safety, and respond to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong organization, attention to safety, and excellent communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair-filled, noisy environments with live animals.
