Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and upholding our vision for pet health and safety. This hands-on role in our Clearwater store involves grooming, customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales contributions in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and teeth brushing per company standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, manage appointments, and promote services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond swiftly to pet health issues.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records with top-tier service.
- Flexibly assist other departments and embody our culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and prioritize safety/organization. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet-heavy, noisy environments. Flexible scheduling essential.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and products while managing check-in/out and reservations
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and handle sick/injured pets immediately
- Drive salon sales through promotions and merchandise recommendations
- Participate in store culture, follow policies, and assist other departments as needed
