Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds cleanliness, pet health/safety standards, and drives salon success through exceptional service and sales in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists, ensure humane pet conditions, and respond to sick/injured pets.
- Flexibly assist other store departments while following all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
