Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensures pet safety, and builds lasting pet parent relationships. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service in a fast-paced retail environment, sharing responsibility for salon cleanliness and health standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/products to boost sales targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Uphold salon sanitation via daily maintenance checklists; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Assist other departments, promote salon growth, and embody company values.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize meticulously. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings/weekends/holidays essential.
