Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and upholding pet health/safety standards. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming with customer engagement, sales growth, and salon maintenance in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, reservations, and client records.
- Drive salon metrics by promoting services/merchandise and achieving sales targets.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness/sanitation; respond to pet health issues with vet transport if needed.
- Participate in store-wide support and embody company values.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize meticulously. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing extensively, and working in pet hair/wet environments with moderate-high noise. Flexible scheduling essential.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and products while managing check-in/out procedures
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and handle sick/injured pets immediately
- Drive salon sales through promotions and merchandise recommendations
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies
