Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. Uphold pet health, safety, and salon standards while contributing to sales goals and team success.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
• Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products, and upsell services to meet sales targets.
• Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-in/out procedures, and maintain records.
• Ensure salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
• Assist other departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of recognition.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings, weekends, holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair-filled, noisy environments with live animals.
