Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, salon maintenance, and sales to drive salon success in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise to boost sales.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Uphold salon hygiene, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health; transport sick/injured pets to vet; assist store departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Requires prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months Stylist in Training). Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hair-filled environments, and animal handling.
