Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
• Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs and recommend solutions.
• Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions daily.
• Drive sales through merchandise/service recommendations to meet targets.
• Monitor pet health; transport to vet if needed; assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong organization, attention to safety, and communication skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
