Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds cleanliness, safety standards, and drives salon success through expert grooming and customer engagement in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, consultations, rebooking.
- Maintain salon hygiene, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, monitor pet health and transport to vet if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to inclusive team culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, moderate-noise environment with wet conditions.
