Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Corvallis store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet health, and safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend health/wellness solutions based on pet needs and sell merchandise/services to boost sales targets.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greet, answer questions, handle reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain highest cleanliness/sanitation levels, including daily/end-of-day maintenance checklists.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
