Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend and sell services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
