Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role in our Courtenay store combines hands-on grooming with customer interaction to drive positive outcomes and salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, manage check-ins/outs, reservations, and client records.
- Promote services/merchandise to meet sales targets and enhance pet parent experiences.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Identify and address sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
