Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Danville, Virginia location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service and sales to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents in-person/phone/register to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and promote sales.
- Maintain salon cleanliness/sanitation via daily checklists; respond to pet health issues and transport to vet if needed.
- Drive salon metrics through upselling merchandise/services and rebooking appointments.
- Support store operations, follow policies, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/noisy environments with animals.
