Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services for dogs and cats, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon operations, and sales growth while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and pet health.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments/check-ins/outs, maintain records, and conduct reminder calls.
- Ensure salon sanitation and pet safety; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
