Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role demands grooming expertise, customer focus, and commitment to pet safety in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet-heavy settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise to boost sales and loyalty.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, record-keeping.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness/sanitation; monitor pet health and transport sick pets to vets as needed.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and contribute to store metrics.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass. Must excel in computer use, composure under pressure, organization, safety focus, and communication. Physical agility for lifting, stooping, and animal handling in moderate-noise, wet environments essential.
