Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensures pet health and safety, and builds lasting pet parent relationships. This hands-on role in our Dearborn store combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, record-keeping.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health issues.
- Collaborate across departments and embody PetSmart's values.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling pets in a fast-paced, pet-hair-filled environment.
