Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with exceptional customer service, salon maintenance, and sales opportunities in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
• Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs and recommend solutions/merchandise to boost sales.
• Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
• Monitor pet health, respond to emergencies, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
