Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to drive positive experiences and salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, consultations.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate noise and animal exposure.
