Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds PetSmart's vision of best-in-class grooming while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sales excellence in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to hit sales goals.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greet, answer questions, handle reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, ensure humane pet conditions, and respond to sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Requires prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
