Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, sales, and salon operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
• Engage pet parents in-person/phone/register to recommend wellness solutions and rebook services.
• Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, client records, reminder calls.
• Drive sales targets by promoting merchandise/services and achieving productivity metrics.
• Maintain salon cleanliness/sanitation; respond to pet health issues and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion/certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, exposure to wet/noisy environments and live animals.
