Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role demands grooming expertise, customer engagement, and commitment to pet safety and salon standards in a fast-paced store setting.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), stoop, kneel, and work in wet, noisy areas with live animals. Depth perception and composure under pressure are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu and standalone services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend/sell services and products to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, rebooking, and reminder calls.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and humane conditions; address pet health issues promptly.
- Collaborate across departments and embody PetSmart's values.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Excel with computer proficiency, organizational skills, communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and safety focus. Thrive in pet-filled, moderate-to-high noise environments.

- Perform full grooming services including bath, brush, nail trims, teeth brushing per PetSmart standards

- Manage check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and report sick/injured pets
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies
