Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, recommend products, and upsell services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning.
- Monitor pet health, respond to emergencies, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong organization, attention to safety, and superior communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wetness.
