Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds PetSmart’s vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction while driving salon success through skilled grooming and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and teeth brushing.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services, and promote merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Collaborate across departments and participate in recognition programs while following all policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have prior grooming experience or 6 months as a Stylist in Training with PetSmart’s Salon Academy certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational prowess, and strong communication are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-filled environments.
