Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health/safety standards. This full-time role in Edmonton, Alberta, requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Drive salon sales through recommendations and promotions while maintaining cleanliness via daily checklists.
- Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured pets to vets, and assist other departments as needed.
- Participate in recognition programs and adhere to all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training). Excel in computer use, staying composed under pressure, organization, communication, and physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs in wet, noisy settings with pet exposure. Depth perception and team lifting required.
