Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. Based in El Cajon, CA, this role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service and sales to drive positive experiences and salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, recommend services/merchandise to boost sales.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, reminder calls, check-in/out, rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist departments, follow all policies while promoting team culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety/detail, strong communication. Physical demands: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in wet/noisy environments with depth perception.
