Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Escondido, CA location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and contribute to sales goals in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Manage appointments: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; respond to pet health issues, including vet transport.
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies, culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Excel in high-pressure settings with strong organization, communication, and computer skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to pets, noise, wet environments. Flexible schedule essential (evenings/weekends/holidays).
