Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Farmingdale, NY location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats, engage pet parents, and uphold PetSmart's vision of exceptional pet care. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet safety, and driving sales in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and client records.
- Drive salon growth by promoting services/merchandise and achieving sales targets.
- Maintain humane, sanitary conditions; perform daily/end-of-day cleaning; respond to pet health emergencies.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/noisy environments and live animals.
